Ceiling applications are often challenging, so you need an expert, and we have what it takes!

The Drywall Installation Process

As with other drywall installation companies, we start by measuring the area after covering plumbing and electrical wires with protective shields. Our sheetrock installation services include cutting, measuring, and hanging the drywall based on your specific needs.

Once that’s done, we ensure that the drywall is cohesive and strong. Then we apply the finishing touches. When we’ve done all that, the room is then ready for paint or texturing.

We’re available for full replacement and repair. Whether you had smoke or water damage, our professionals are there to install new drywall in your home.

Crown Molding Installation

Crown molding is a great way to add a decorative finish to the walls of your home. It brings style and value. Though it’s a small touch, it makes a huge difference, whether you prefer something modern or colonial.

After installing drywall in bathroom areas, ask us about wood, polyurethane, metal, and other crown molding options. The process is often complicated, which is why you need our services!

Installation of Partitions and Walls and Alignment

Drywall partition installation is another service we offer. We use several steps, starting with marking and continuing by inserting U channels. That gives you stable walls for your home renovation project.

We also ensure the walls are aligned perfectly, guaranteeing that the finishing materials are flush and can be used for many years to come. It’s a time-consuming process, but we put all of our efforts into it!

Plasterboard Ceiling Installs

Plasterboard installation requires one simple rule – use fewer joints to ensure that it looks beautiful after we install ceiling drywall. We make sure that the depth is equal when screwing in the self-tapping screws. That way, it’s aesthetically pleasing and durable.

Sheetrock Installation FAQs

Our Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is Drywall Installation A DIY Project Or Should I Hire A Professional?

Many people try installing drywall by themselves; however, this is not recommended. Hiring a professional is always the best course of action regardless of whether you only have a few repairs or are completely remodeling. This is also the only way you’ll have peace of mind that the outcome will be executed well.

A professional is less likely to make mistakes that you would make, and they have the equipment and know the techniques to get the job done timeously. They also generally work in teams. Thus, hiring a pro will also significantly reduce the time the installation takes to be completed. You can expect your project to be done in a few days or weeks rather than months.

  • How Many Hours Does It Take to Tape and Mud Drywall?

The length of time required for drywall taping and mudding will depend on the extent, size, and complexity of the project and how many people are working on the project. Your contractor’s efficiency will also play a major role in how long the process takes. More experienced and skilled technicians will be able to get the job done much quicker than someone who is new to the industry or still getting the hang of the application process.

Often, it can take a few days as there needs to be sufficient time for the mud to dry. Keep in mind that the drying process can take up to 24 hours. Remember to have realistic targets – rushing your contractor to get the job done at unrealistic paces will not yield high-quality results.

  • How Many Coats of Primer Do I Need for New Drywall?

When painting over drywall, you need a minimum of two coats of primer. This will prevent the paint finish from looking uneven and splotchy. New drywall has high absorbent properties, meaning failure to prime the surface properly will result in the paint being absorbed into the drywall.

There are also instances where you might have to apply three coats of primer. If it appears that the second coat of primer isn't offering sufficient coverage, you should opt for a third coat. However, this is more likely the case when painting over drywall joint compound, plaster, masonry, and unfinished wood. Three coats of primer may also be necessary when trying to cover major stains caused by water damage or other issues.

  • How Soon After Drywall Can You Paint?

You can only start painting over drywall once the surface is completely dry. Usually, it takes drywall mud or compounds approximately 24 hours to dry completely. However, if you're patching up large areas where repairs were required or waiting for the initial coat to dry, it could take longer than 24 hours.

There are certain instances where technicians may use specific technicians or shortcuts to get the drywall mud to dry even faster. In these instances, you can generally start painting around 12 hours after the mudding. However, do not take a chance if you fear the surface hasn't dried completely, as this will only ruin the finish of the paint. It's best to be patient and wait until the surface is completely dry to ensure you get a beautiful and flawless paint finish.

  • Does Drywall Have to End on a Stud?

While it’s not specifically stated that plasterboard has to end on a stud, it's vital that the edge of the drywall sheet is on a solid surface, which would often be a stud. It cannot simply hang loose, as this will likely result in joint failure. Ending on a stud is ideal as this provides the necessary support for the drywall and gives it something to attach to.

If your only option is to hang the plasterboard joints in between the studs, it’s recommended that you install a new stud in between so that the end of the sheet can attach to it. However, you can also use blocking in between studs to give the drywall a surface to attach to.

  • Can You Use Shiplap Instead of Drywall?

Shiplap is often used for decorative purposes and is a specific type of wooden board that has overlapping properties. However, it can be used as an alternative to drywall and might be worth considering if you want to lower the overall cost in specific areas of your property.

Furthermore, shiplap can also be installed directly into the studs; thus, if you don’t have any drywall installed, there’s no need to worry. In fact, installing shiplap to studs can be easier than installing drywall in certain aspects as it does not require as much equipment. That being said, if you currently have drywall installed, you can still install shiplap over drywall.
